The NHL's Atlantic Division Is a Hot Mess

 03/14/2018 - 05:02

Perhaps Ken Holland wasn't totally off his rocker to believe this Detroit Red Wings team might compete for the playoffs.

Take a gander at the Atlantic Division standings with less than a month to go in the regular season. Half of the teams in the division would finish dead last in the Central or Metropolitan Division.

The Red Wings' 63 points is the fourth worst total in the Atlantic. And only 6th worst in the NHL. Heck, it wasn't that long ago that Florida was the fifth vehicle in this pile up at the bottom of the division.
