Ken Holland Can Scratch Steve Ott Off His UFA Todo List

 05/26/2017 - 06:08

Steve Ott won't be returning to the Detroit Red Wings as a free agent next year. Ott, who signed with Detroit last year and was traded to Montreal for a sixth round pick, has agreed to become an assistant coach with the St. Louis Blues.

Ott, a Windsor native, was a fan favorite in St. Louis.

Ott scored three goals and three assists in 42 games with Detroit, providing the Wings with sandpaper on the fourth line.

Here's Ott talking to the Detroit Free Press about what it meant to be a Red Wing after he was traded.
