Craig Custance, of the The Athletic, says he's heard prospect Tomas Nosek has been selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft.
It sucks to lose Nosek for nothing. But he was a fairly old prospect playing in Grand Rapids (He'll be 25 when the season starts). He showed some offensive upside in Grand Rapids this year and was a great two-way player. Despite Tyler Bertuzzi's playoff MVP award, Nosek was probably the best Red Wings prospect on the team.
Still, Nosek's skating makes his NHL ability questionable. He lacks that first and second step quickness, which you really need to have on the PK and chasing guys around your zone -- which is the role he was probably slated for in the NHL.
The other thing here is Petr Mrazek. He wasn't selected in the draft. But after the recent smear campaign by the Red Wings and their media team, they virtually have to trade him.
The organization once known for class, the Red Wings are now becoming known for treating players awfully in the press.
