September birthday. Could go to the AHL for 24-25
Recruits - Ranked 15th
While his even-strength point total may not have been in the same stratosphere as several other WHL draft-eligible prospects, Danielson often had to be a one-man show on an underwhelming Brandon team
HP Ranked 17th
Nate Danielson is a fast – two-way – center who has flashes of brilliance, mired in inconsistent and frustrating play.
“Talented player but in many of my viewings I was left thinking he had more to give. I don’t see much energy or as one scout mentioned, he doesn’t have a motor. He sold me more in the second half.” - HP Scout, Mark Edwards, May 202
McKeen's 13th
While Danielson might never be a guy who scores more than 70 points in a season, it's easy to foresee him nevertheless becoming a top six center who can play both sides of special teams and match up well defensively against the top lines on other teams
EliteProspects 26th
“I don’t know if he has the hockey sense to stick as a C in the NHL, but he can flat out fly. I think his skating alone makes him a pretty safe bet to play NHL games.” – Eastern Conference scout, May 202
Detroit Red Wings Select Nate Danielson at 9 Overall

Two way center with a ceiling of a second liner. Good skater, about 6'1", and competitive. The last time I remember the Wings taking a player with that scouting report, he became their captain. Here's to hoping Danielson follows a similar path as Larkin, but it's hard to be excited right now. The only thing to feel confident about is that Danielson has a high floor, so he should be an NHL player.

Does Yzerman think he can win without skill?
He wears the "C" and the Wings seem to love that status. He's fast but doesn't play fast. The hands lag behind the feet and he seems to me to have a kind of slow lumbering style in traffic. Kasper has a much quicker game IMO. He has a good shot but he can't make space for himself. Hate the pick after watching further video of him.
1.21 gigawatts! 1.21 gigawatts. Great Scott!
The groove offensively allowed Danielson to lead Brandon in scoring. Defensively, it made him one of the most difficult players to go against in the WHL. Connor Bedard, the leading scorer in the WHL and the projected No. 1 pick of the 2023 draft, said Danielson was the toughest player he faced in his age group.
"He was probably the guy that maybe gave me the hardest game," Bedard said. "He's so fast, so skilled. So if you turn it over or something, he's going to go down and do something. He's a great player."
